4830 and 4850 in Crossfire?

Thread Starter
I told my mom to get me a 4850 for christmas but she got a 4830 instead. I don't want to break her heart by telling her to return in and get the 4850, so I was wondering if i went ahead and bought a 4850, could I run them in CF if I overclocked the 4830 a little?

Or if I just bought another 4830. Would two 4830's @ $99 be a waste of money..?

2 4830's for 99 or for 99 each?

The crossfire configuration will surpass the 4850 but your better off getting a single card, less heat, power consumption, overall easier to use.

and you wouldn't be able to Crossfire on that SLI board anyhow.

Yeah it's possible. You can crossfire cards from the same series.

I don't recommend it, it would be better to crossfire the same cards for the best performance.
