Cerberus, I know exactly what your talking about. I have a DFI SLI-DR at home and I remember seeing this on my board. I think it's similar to a "fixed capacitor". I'll take a picture and send it to my buddy. He works in a factory that puts together similar types of boards. He might be able to tell me what to replace. Not sure how this could have broken off though during shipment

Good luck

Cerberus, the missing item is a cyrstal. I'm almost positive these are easily replaceable. I'll find out what Mhz it is and see if i can find you one. Just one of these is probably .50 cents. Just to confirm, see attached image and let me know this is what we are talking about.

Cerberus, I looked on both of my DFI boards and this crystal didn't have any writings on it (no Mhz, uF ect). Are you sure these piece wasn't laying around in the motherboard box when you received it? Are you sure this broke off during shipment?

Good luck

EDIT: So really the only way to get the exact replacement is to find a schematic or talk with someone that really knows these components well. Since it's not labeled it's hard to say. Even if you use a oscilloscope with the board powered on it still won't give you an accurate Mhz readings. A bricked DFI board may also prove worthy seeming you could just use the parts off of that.
