Cant OC E8400 after changing X48 jumper settings to support ddr2 1066

Thread Starter
I recently changed my Asrock X48 jumpers to support my ddr2 1066.
Before i did this i had my 1066Mhz memory running 800Mhz @ 2.2V.
Also Had my E8400 OC @ 4.2 Ghz W/ 1.4V, booted up at least ran for short while did the jumpers and now it recgnizes my memory but can not OC my CPU well, only booted at 366Mhz (333Mhz stock) anything above wouldn't post BIOS at all. I want to get the most i can out of this system, can someone help me find my computers true potential.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

again i have problems even running World at War with BIOS set to default 10 minutes in driver not responding. is it a bad driver or are my settings in game too high? They were set to max at 1920*1200

Do you have the latest BIOS? Did you reset all your settings to default before retrying your OC? Make sure all your voltages are set manually.

Also, I think the safe limit for the 45nm Core 2 is 1.3625v, so 1,4v might be killing your chip faster.

You need to set your jumpers to the "overclock to FSB1600" position. For my P45 board it's done by shorting out FSB1 pin 1&2, FSB2 pin 3&4, and FSB3 pin 3&4. That would actually make your ram run slower, but it'll give you more FSB overclocking head room.

After changing the jumpers, you can still going to the bios to change the ram speed (if you didn't pin mod your CPU). You should be able to change the DRAM Frequency setting.
