Well ima use this for gaming. but which one is better this WDH1U5000N or this WDH1B5000N . Like here are the links http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136175 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136166 . Why is the second one more expensive? Isn't the first one supposed to be better and worth more? The first one seems to be the newer model because U is after B. But anyways which one is better? (If their the same why are they different models?) Thanks. Peace.

Maybe the white one is more expensive because it comes with special remote access software and capabilities hence, "office my book"

You dont want to use a external hard drive for gaming because it will really slow you down due to the limitation of the USB port, if you were going to get one I suggest getting one with eSata or Firewire like this one that has eSata

BTW what is eSATA or FIREWIRE??? And is it better than SATAII? Or u know the harddrives I posted what kind of sata do they have? Is eSATA or FIREWIRE better than the harddrive's SATA that I posted? Thanks. Peace. And I want something at ebay for cheaper like $10. And no I don't plan to play high end games on it. Not higher than like COD 3.

eSATA is EXTERNAL sata.... same speeds as sataII from an external device. firewire is propreitary MAC crap, which is all but dead, avoid at all costs.

Always read the specifications at new egg.

The office version has an "officepack" Bloatware that you are paying more for.

The essential is exactly the same, except in color. They are both USB 2.0.

Some higher end versions offer Multiple interfaces like Firewire 400.

480mbps max vs 400 mbps maxfirewire 400. Mileage may vary, but not great enough for the price difference IMO.

For 129 you could get a terabyte. Price per MB is getting cheap!

The HDD's you linked are great for storage for Media, such as movies and pictures but slow for gaming

Before you get a external HDD with eSata make sure that you have a eSata port on your i/o panel

Edit: or better yet for gaming get another drive and raid it or get 2 raptors and raid them or you can get a SSD hard drive

Here's the WIKI on Raid, you can set up raid the bios, most motherboards are capable of Raid 0,1,5

SSD's are Solid State Drives, they have no moving parts and are faster than regular hard drives, WIKI
