I havent been keeping up with the nVidia spectrum lately, is this a good card?

The store that I work at is offering it to me at a really discounted price, so I was wondering if I should go for it.

Yes the 216 version of the 260 is an awesome card. I believe Newegg has some for around $240, so depending on the deal.. it may be best to pass and buy from newegg.

Edit, just seen the 4850's in your rig.. I wouldn't replace them with this, but it is suppose to be a very good card if you have another purpose for it.

Yeah, it's a solid card.

What's the "really discounted price"?

Yea, the GTX 260 is pretty good for the cards that are out right now. One thing that you want to make sure its that the card that they are offering you have 216 stream processors. There is also a 192sp version, but that version is obiviously not as good as this one.

If you are planning to switch over to this GTX 260 from your 4850 CF, you will most likely have a performance drop.

haha, well I can get that particular model for $99 from my work. I think I might stop by and pick it up tomorrow morning and throw it on my test bench.

How would it compare to my two 4850s in xfire?

EDIT: since it seems it will perform less than my 4850s, I'll probably keep it on my secondary system rather than my sig rig.

The 4850s would destroy it.

But that is an amazing price you'd be stupid not to hop all over it

Want to get me on too?

Serious question

I'd definitely get it for $99.

Sadly there's only one available to me. I'd have no problem selling it to you, but I just closed a deal on my secondary system's current GPU, so its in need of a new one.
