I saw a huge jump in performance from going from a 2.0 to 2.4. Hopefully they don't bottle neck that much, only looking for about 50% increase, and most benechies see almost 100 percent :O
yeah they really do scale incredibally well. you could always get the second card and upgrade the CPU later.

Your cpu is fine, it won't bottleneck too much at 2.4ghz but getting it to 2.8 would help

sli really likes high clocks, ... pretty much high clocked dualcores (c2d) will yield huge performance increases wit 9600gt sli

if i were you, try to find out if your motherboard supports am2+ processors; that way, you can get a 7750BE and then u can really see ur 9600gt sli shine

otherwise; the 3800 will be a serious bottleneck if u leave it at 2.4

I just did the SLI 9600gt.. I have an e6320 and I'm new to overclocking so I cannot seem to get a stable speed.. I'm running that at 1.86ghz and 2gigs OCZ SLI ram @ 800mhz.. how badly is this processor bottlenecking my system?
My 3dmark scores are horrible.. I've done 3 3dmark06 tests today.. 8890 the first time, 8840 then 7500 the 3rd. 12000 something in 3dmark05.

I've tried and tried and it only runs stable at 2.4GHz, any higher and it goes all faulty (cause of the ram )

Its an old Socket 939 Manchester 3800+X2 I've seen people get it to 2.6+ on the same chip, but that is because they had a lot better ram (i've changed timings like crazy, dividers, etc, nothing helps). So far I think I've seen a pretty good jump in performance, went from 80fps stress test to 120 stress test (50% increase xD)!
