Asus vs Gigabyte on OC'ing?

Thread Starter
Would I be safe in saying that it seems a lot of people have much better luck, or at least better results, with Asus boards compared to Gigabyte, pound for pound?

I wanna hit 4ghz once with a 3.0ghz or lower CPU and just narrowing down my choices, without needing to get a $125+ motherboard.

No actually. The new Gigabyte EP45-UD3P/R OC's better than Asus P45 boards.

I would have to say no... There may be more people using Asus than Gigabyte, but I have had better luck OCing with Gigabyte and the new EP45-UD3P is a crazy OCing MB...

actually both are very good companies but the Asus made better p35s while gigabyte made good p45s so it depends on what board u want and OCing depends on ur CPU and RAM as well as ur mobo

Gigabyte is making some monster over clocking motherboards!

I have had my E8400 for almost a year and I have never been able to hit OC's this high with my 680i and Abit P35.

This board is insane for the price!

Sick OC By-Tor!

If I had a nice water cooling setup I might be able to squeeze a bit more out of this chip but, it is a C0 stepping so, it's more then likely close to it's max. But not to bad for being on air.

here's my latest on a pure air setup and the first time I've had the patience and time to take her up to a 400Mhz FSB... Current ambient temps is 25.6-26.0C

Right now I'm just trying to make sure she's 100% rock solid stable with the 4x2048 DIMMs i'm using but I'm having a problem running four Prime95's (each one only takes 1.7GB or ram to work) and OCCT together at the same time whereas I do not have this problem at a 9x378FSB configuration at 3.4Ghz...

But to put that in perspective, I'm almost stable with 1.3375 vCore (1.296v in windows under LoadLineCalibraiton) Just a little more tweaking and I might have a new 24/7 OC... my load temps are only about 48C.
