cheap build

Ok so I am building a computer trying to keep the cost down running older stuff. The parts I have so far...
A good case, with a paint job done by me .
AVE 80mm fan for the front of the case (Intake)
AVE 80mm fan for the back of the case (Exhaust)
ANTEC SL400 400w power supply
A cd-rom and 3.5" floppy drive
NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 500 video card
All the wiring and stuff.
A heatsink, fan, and mount for a Intel Pentium 4 processor (socket 478). I lapped the heatsink.... now its shiny

Thats it so far.

But im having a hard time choosing the processor and motherboard. I am 90% sure im going to use a Pentium 4 processor. I was thinking maybe a Northwood 2.8 or 3.0ghz CPU, or maybe a Pentium 4 630. But thats a different socket. How much better would the 630 be then the NW 2.8ghz??
Anything else u would recomend. For now I will focus on the processor, then I will figure out what mobo is right for me. Remember CHEAP is the name of the game. I can find Northwood 2.8ghz cpu's for like $20

If your going with p4, I would definitely buy used either from here or craigslist. Sometimes people will sell old rigs for real cheap b/c they don't know the worth. I would suggest getting the northwood, either 2.8 or 3.0. They are much more common than the 630 and you can get for a better price. Find a mobo will also be easier. Hope this helps.

Ok the Intel Pentium 4 "Northwood" 2.8ghz specs
2.8GHz
533MHz FSB
512KB of L2 Cache

Intel Pentium 4 630
3.0ghz
800MHz FSB
2MB of Cache
90mn

That being said, im really a noob and dont know the meaning of most of that. I sorta understand but not really lol. Is the higher FSB and cache better??
