Ouch that is a lot more money, with that bogus pricing system. Hopefully Valve will come to there senses on this one.

Love how you bash STEAM every other post.
if Valve gets even a tiny wiff of what you're doing - they'll ban your pretty little account, and you will never be able to get the games you previously bought again.

I don't see how you see STEAM is crap.
It's the best digital game downloader out there and most likely will always be that way it seems as even the competition itself is putting games on their service.

Even though there's a 40% mark up the prices include the 17.5% (15% in the UK right now) of VAT (Value Added Tax) in the price unlike before when it was added afterwards. They've realistically added maybe 25%? Even less probably and it's alot clearer how much things are now.

As well as that there's also no exchange rate prices (which would cost maybe 5% if they were selling them straight from the US officially to us, that the banks charge not a tax), they must have some sort of offices in Europe, where as . Duty could also be a potential cost which is another 10% if they were selling from the US and it costs more to run offices here so I don't see it as too bad. It's alot clearer now too. They don't seem to have converted directly from dollars to pounds though, which is good too.

This is one of the few things Valve have done that I don't like.

I presume we get the £1 = $1 equasion, which is even worse (well, the pound has been pretty low lately, but it is generally £1 = $2ish, so we get ripped off badly.)

Valve is being retarded here, it should dynamically update with the exchange rate by default, as well as allow the developers to set the euro price.

It's about the same as the US to Euro rate almost $1.50 to the pound. And saying that, they haven't translated it from $ directly into £s they've knocked a bit off and as i've already said included VAT in the price.

Edit: Try finding the orange box for £17 in the shops easily.
Edit 2: They're only charging us £30 on Steam for World at War which is £30 in the shops. I think we've gotten it good guys. No extra money to have our favourite game on Steam rather than a disk which i'd kill quickly.

That is honestly one of the dumbest, most unnecessary things I've ever heard of.
