Which is great for us Canadians, since $1 USD = 80c CDN. So I basically get 20% off all of my steam purchases.
Other way around. $1 CAD = ~80c USD. That's why Euro-countries are getting screwed, because €1 EUR = ~$1.40 USD.

Still, 20% off is a good deal. Lucky Canadians

I'm pissed at the fact that yet again we are blatantly being ripped off. Yet again we get the short end of the stick and yet again you damn Yanks tend to moan at us when if you were in our shoes there would be wold war 3!

Look down at us from your snooty noses, you're no different and certainly wouldn't act any different. We are all money driven idiots.
you are right it does suck and it's that fair but then again this is that the way our current trade markets work. business charge what they can to make the most profit they can. sitting here complaining moaning and groaning isn't going to solve a damn thing. complaining to us yanks isn't going to solve the problem. takling about oil prices isn't going t osolve it. as you said we are all money driven idiots so why not hit them where it hurts and don't give them your money.

either way though at the end of the day they have the ability to do this as this is how a our markets places work. companies charge what they want. it's fair right and legal being that a game is not a neccessity. sorry to tell you that but these are not needed, required, or really anything other then a form of entertainment. if they did this with your foot, water, or something like that that is needed to either keep life going or to be able to give you means to keep that going you might have more of a reason to complain, but as it sits you have other competitors out thereto buy the products from, stores, online vendors and such. and if valve has one a game that you can only buy from their location then it's still not needed adn so they aren't quite ripping you off. they are just trying to make more profit of your want. it's your choice on what is worth more, your buck or your game.

What does being a "yank" have anything to do about it, we control the price just as much as you brits do, so what does our country of origin have to do with the overall topic of discussion? Boycotting a service or company is the most effective way to curtail there decision. If you feel its unfair then dont use Steam, being that the UK has a very large mass of gamers over there it would be hurting them not to use an exchange rate.

it's because americans complain about absolutely everything until they get their way but when anyone else moans about something you tell them to shut up.

Guys, this is absurd.
In Norway SPORE boxed version costs 250kr, and on steam it's 49.99 euros. which is 499kr here. Thats nearly 50 % increase from boxed version. Which one to buy? 250kr for boxed or 499kr for download? Give me a break, Valve.

Pretty poor stereotype. Could you give me an example of something the Americans have whined about to get their way? I guess I am just not seeing it.

Now we all know that stereotypes arent right, especially that one, thats like me saying that all brits drink tea, its absurd and uncalled for and very untrue. Human beings in general complain when something is not to there liking, whether they be African, American, Portuguese, British or anything else for that matter.

Just because we get to pay for the games cheaper than you doesnt mean im telling you to stop complaining and get over it. In fact I gave you the suggestion to boycott Steam until they recognize the UK as a market that is necessary for their survival. I also suggested that you purchase your games from a local retailer, or even an e-tailer if the prices are cheaper. Your not obligated by any means to purchase any of the games you can play on steam from Valve, including their own games.

Am I making sense here?

listen i didn't mean all and i said that in a previous post that i am not talking about all americans i just couldn't be bothered to put it in every post, but in general most americans that i've come across complain about lots of things yet don't like it when others do the same.
