Which do you think costs more? Packaging and discs or maintaining a very large server in which possibly millions of people utilize to play there favorite games free of charge. They are business and need to make profit as well.

This is just greed, nothing else. There was no real reason that called for this change.

What exactly does that "fix"? The problem is that "buying in our own currency" means it's more expensive than converting USD to whatever. Or at least, in practice, that's what's happen.

It doesn't cost more, they haven't changed ANYTHING.

We are still able to buy and download the games when it was still in $$$. Only thing they have changed is how they show the price. They haven't bought any new servers, the games are still hosted and distributed on the same servers.

Well first everyone was crying because of the exchange rate and paying more than what you would have to if it was in your own currency, now that it is in your currency its still not good enough?

You missed what I was getting at, not what you are trying to get at. Im just saying that it will cost more in the long run to run a bunch of servers than it will be to pay shipping charges, or in there case for left for dead, making discs and all that good stuff.

In Australia, we still pay about 50% more for a game (at least on console, where a new release in AUS is $120 and in US is $60... yet THEY cry about how overpriced is it).
They don't see it as a problem unless it's affecting them...
speaking of games on consoles.
MGS4 Sweden: 65:36
MGS4 US: 46.99

Gas Prices:
Sweden: 1.85
US and A: ~1.67

I'd like to see what America would do if all prices flipped so that the US had the non-US prices(like the rest of the world).

When I check the store all the games I see cost the same. Hell GTA IV was cheaper from newegg than it was from Steam, not by much, but it saved me like $5-6. I am just saying theres other solutions apart from raging at stores.

LOL! Technically they should be paying around 45 Euros.

And I don't see Americans paying $120 for a 1:1 with Australians.

It doesn't cost more, they haven't changed ANYTHING.

So essentially they are still charging you the same amount of money as if it would have been in US dollars converted to Euros? What is the price difference between Steam and the store nearest you?

That's my point. They haven't had to expand servers, because they haven't increased their customer base. The customer base is still the same, they have still been able to buy games since Steam opened. The only thing they have changed is the way that the customer is paying and how much the game costs. I don't see your point about servers.

We had our share with fuel prices, we were paying close to 5 US Dollars a gallon, more for diesel.
