I pay nearly $8 at the moment per gallon, and that's the cheapest it has been in years. You haven't had your fair share, you never have. But we won't get into that, that's for another thread

I don't see your point about servers.

L4D In store: £25

L4D on Steam: £26.99
Because running a farm of servers means that they will need to be maintained, updated, routinely checked for problems and failing hardware, replaced etc.

so the price difference is 1.99, why not just buy it at the store and install it when you get home, thats what I did, I got it for 35.00 us dollars on sale, everywhere else its 40. Technically if I were to buy it from steam I would be paying the same as you. Whats the problem with that?

I did buy it in store

Again with the servers!!!! They haven't increased anything! We use the same servers to download off as you guys do. So now you are telling me the EU is footing the bill for the servers the US guys are using?

no matter which way you look at it, it is us getting scammed as usual. Hell, I'm not bothered mostly about it. But other countries in the EU get ripped off more than me, and that's damn right out of order.

I know that you guys have been paying more for a long time, theres nothing that I can do about that, and neither can you for that matter, short of moving to the U.S.

Your just a fool.

STEAM is a HUUUGGEEEE PEICE OF DRM.. Dont try to sugarcoat it.
But Steam is DRM that doesn't interfere with your gaming. You can back up save files on their servers, you can install the games as many times as you want, and they do their online gaming and networking through the same network. How is that in any way like the crap EA has been forcing on their customers with their DRM?

They are just trying to make a profit, they could be charging us to use there servers on top of the cost of optionally buying games from them but they dont. I can tell you that if they dont continue to be profitable then they will have to start charging money to use there servers.

Running servers do cost money, employing people costs money, electricity and utilities cost money, thats where all there profit goes.

Trust me when it comes to games and retailers, retailers dont make much money on selling games or gaming systems. Maybe a few dollars per game. Depends on the size of the retailer and how many copies they buy.

oh so they don't manage those servers for the games sold in shops that run on steam that cost less?
