if Valve gets even a tiny wiff of what you're doing - they'll ban your pretty little account, and you will never be able to get the games you previously bought again.

I don't see how you see STEAM is crap.
It's the best digital game downloader out there and most likely will always be that way it seems as even the competition itself is putting games on their service.
If they ban my account, all that would do is prevent me from playing the Valve games, because I would still have the CD keys to all the other non-valve games, and believe it or not, Valve does not have the power to ban those, only the game devs who produced the game do, and as far as they are concerned, as long as I paid for them, there's no problem.

But it would be stupid to ban my account, as I obviously do pay for all the games, and will continue to do so. There is no lost or potentially lost revenue due to my actions, so by banning me they would be effectively decreasing their revenue.

For the Valve games, I do have to keep them on Steam, obviously.

Why am I an idiot? It might not be fair, but you are NOT forced to buy your games off STEAM.

Just to prove my point, an online E-tailer was selling L4D for £20. In shops it is £25 (which is how I bought it) and on Steam it is £28.

Valves software is charging more than they are for a physical disc! That's how retarded this set up is.

Damn, that's right. Because if it was America we would have just had lawsuits left, right and center. Don't dare talk down to us for complaining about pricing and certainly don;t start bringing nationality into the equation you idiot. I don't go around slagging your country off and I don't expect the same!

Also, I believe in your country you have Trading Standards as well? That is all this is. Grow up.

I wonder why your gas costs $8. Lot's of taxes, eh? That's the EU for ya!

Partially taxes, partially their relationship with the supplying nations, partially the fact that America is a country that loves its cars to the point of madness, so we take all the gas, and people in about every other country primarily use public transportation, walk, ride bikes, anything other than driving a car every day.
actually we started to use public transport more here when gas prices were around 5 dollars
post #76 of 162
yes because we actually try to limit the use of cars etc because of the effects they have. there is no point in trying to have a conversation with you(usapatriot) because you are pretty ignorant and obviously just reply to every post with 'yup the eu iz bad america rulez'.

also this is the stupidest arguement i've ever heard. we've had to listen to you complain about gas prices when nobody was 'forcing' you to drive your 6 litre pick ups. this terrible comeback could be said for anything.

Truth, I still say we should still use horse and carriages to be honest. What the hell is wrong with a horse and carriage ? NOTHING, you even get free hamburger paddies.

I'm not sure how much you've looked into that statement but don't blame the American people about cars. You can blame cities that don't have adequate public transportation. It's not just the peoples fault it's the government's putting their money in the wrong places like luxuries and big malls when what we need is sidewalks, parks, subways, and community centers.

Im in no way defending him but the difference between gas and video games on steam is with video games you can almost always go to a retail store and buy the same product cheaper. With gasoline or petrol, whichever you want to call it, its pretty much the same price anywhere in your general vicinity, where as you dont have the option to buy the product cheaper.

You Europeans should know that Americans tend to complain about everything, myself included, but thats with everyone I think, not just one area of the world. When you see a huge spike in cost of anything people are bound to complain no matter where you are. Which is what this whole thread is all about

Or better yet a solar powered horseless carriage , we have the technology to do so much but we are held back for obvious reasons.
