Don't feed Adrienspawn, the argument's he using and the ones that have been used against him have been repeated endlessly over the last 3 weeks. He's trying to get his rep up the quickiest and most efficient way possible.

I'm not sure what you mean by this statement, unless its a bit of trolling. That is the point that many people have bought up in this and other deneb threads - that without competition, ANY
company will try to gouge their consumers for a higher price if possible. They have shareholders and investors, of which they are obligated to try and provide the best return as possible. Let alone personal greed by those who would stand to benefit from inside the company.
The point is, i7 at the moment, while a great processor is quite expensive once you take into account the various associated costs such as mobo, ram and whatnot. Many people here at OCN, and probably in the hardware community as a whole, hopes the denebs do well so there is more competition, and presumably as a result, lower prices and increased innovation. Intel currently own the performance crown, and have had dominant market share for quite a while resulting once again in i7's current prices as stated before. I want AMD to release a kick ass processor and do well, I also want Intel to respond and release hopefully a cheaper i7 or bring out the i5's quicker. Because in the end, consumers (and I am one) win.
If you want them to fail, or hope they do for whatever reason, its your choice, each to their own. Why you would, is beyond me.Edited by Drin - 12/20/08 at 12:46pm
