Adding UV Dye to Koolance coolant

Thread Starter
As the title says, does anyone know if there are any problems with adding dye to koolance coolant (I have the blue stuff that is not UV reactive)? I'll probably use different coolant next time (cheaper?)
But until then would there be any problems with something like FeserView UV Blue or Blue/Clear?
I'm thinking of adding a window to my rocket fish case and I already have a double bay res in the front with two UV Led's back lighting.
Thanks for any views / thoughts.

Mix a little up in a small container and play with it for a few days, shake it up, warm it up, see if you get any kind of reactions from it. The most common is to have precipitates form and fall out of the mix.

You might want to try some "Tracer-Line" UV dye, you can get it at auto parts stores for $6 or $8 for a 1 ounce bottle. I get it in clear blue, it just take s a few drops to light up your loop. A 1 ounce bottle of it is enough to check for leaks in a cars cooling circuit.

just get some petra dye and buy a gallon of distilled and call it a day its like 3 bucks and will last a long time... I did 2 loops with a huge reservoir and still have a 1/2 bottle left..its a tiny tiny green bottle

the blue petra stuff also works good

heres my two of the loops I did with only 1 uv cathode

Thanks for the pics. The system looks great. I've been thinking of doing something other than the blue UV - almost seems over done. I guess I just hate tossing fairly new coolant (but I'm also a terrible pack rat).
Maybe a purple theme would look good in the Rocketfish - or blood red (I think I saw that dye somewhere).
Anyways, thanks for the input!
