Well, I dunno about you guys but I'm just quite sure that before you do a format you should check your hardware because a bluescreen is a warning for failing hardware a high percentage of the time.
I'd run a memtest using the memtest disk(google it) and run a check disk on the hard drive using another PC if you are able to to make sure your hard drive isn't failing because if it is this will happen again in the future.
To run a check disk on a slave drive you simply boot the machine and once you have it started you : will open command prompt and type
chkdsk D: (could be another letter) /F /R
It will take some time to scan it, up to a few hours sometimes. If you have any bad sectors you need to get a new hard drive.
