4870x2 or Crossfire?

Thread Starter
I want to upgrade but not sure which route to go. Should I sell my current Hd 4870 and buy a 4870x2 or buy a crossfire board and another single Hd 4870? Is my psu sufficient for either one? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I think the 4870X2 would be better. Then you wont have to worry about getting a new mobo that goes with all your stuff you have now and all that. That psu should be able to handle it since you dont have a ton of other stuff hooked up to it and as long as it has an 8pin(or 6 + 2) and a 6pin power plugs.

Hardware crossfire>software crossfire. That said, the 4870x2 is the more expensive option. You should make the money up in the long run though.

Thx for the advice. Im thinking im going for a crossfire setup. I may want to crossfire other Ati cards in the future. Also is it required that i crossfire the same brand or can it be of any brand as long as their of the same model? Thx
