Obvious point.

HDMI has a max. length before you need a repeater.

Did you even test this idea before hand?

Correct, Kinda...only overrated if you don't need the shielding.

Nothing is set in stone. If it was there would be no OC'ing or Hacking.

you could transport HD over that, just it would need to be converted into HDMI (with a set-top box or computer) after. still WIN WIN!

Well there is a difference in going into the bios and changing settings....and trying to get a signal across long distances.

The digital singal will be very weak, since it's only designed for short runs. DVD to TV or whatever. Running it the length of a house is.....going to be interesting.

Yup, depends on many variables. Even constants are not in the real world.

Hi again sorry I didn't post my results yesterday it was about 11 when I finished connecting up the cables and they are still not all finished.

For all those woundering wether or not HDMI over CAT6 worked, IT DID

Here are some pics of the setup and it working

The Transmitter downstairs

A close up of the transmitter (The device is powerd by a 5V input, then there is a HDMI input and 2 CAT6 outputs)

A photo of the reciever 28 Meters away in my room (5V power and 2 CAT6 inputs and HDMI output)

And a photo of the lot in action (It is running at 1080p and is as smooth as the TV in the living room)

If anyone would like some more detailed pics or infomation on the equipment just ask. (Would have taken more but the batteries on my camera died)
