Thoughts on Acer monitor?

Thread Starter
i'm going to be setting up a dual monitor solution after christmas (along with the monitor in my sig) and i saw this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&nm_mc=OTC-RSS

What are your thoughts? I'm also looking at the 24incher of the same brand for 100 dollars more (This new monitor will become my main, my other sig monitor will be the one for chat/windows sidebar/news) Does anyone have experience with this monitor? Anything i should be aware of?

Also looking at this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&nm_mc=OTC-RSS

Not the same brand but looks pretty good

I also have a 19" Acer, and it's a great monitor for the price. Samsung and HP monitors look far more crisp to me, but for the price you cannot beat it.

They're great monitors, despite people constantly hating on the brand.

Thanks for the responses! yeah people do seem to hate on them but it looks like an awesome monitor. I'm sorta leaning toward the 24 inch asus too, but not too sure if it's worth it to spend another 100

The second monitor you listed, I would go for it. I've never noticed much difference between Acer and ASUS Monitors to be honest.

Plus, it's most likely cheaper, and it has an HDMI port which is awesome.

Also you linked the same Monitor twice

I own two acer 19 inch and 2 acer 22 inch monitors. Overall their picture and quality is pretty good. They are good monitors for the price. The only complaint I have is that they tend to get a stuck or dead pixel over time. Each monitor of mine is less than a year old and have developed 1 or 2 deadbeat pixels. Not bad but not worth turning in for warranty repair.

I also have 2 dell monitors (15 and 19inch) and 2 samsung monitors (22 inch) and those have been outstanding. No dead or stuck pixels, and better quality picture for the most part but they cost more than the acers did. If I were you, I would pony up a little more cash and get a slightly higher quality brand if possible.

If you are going Dual monitors then may i recommend my X223w? It is simply stunning and is at a nice price, but if you would like 1080p and if it is a must then go with the acer you chose both are great but i see more potential from the Acer.

Acer monitors are good for the price, but if you can afford the little extra, I would suggest a Samsung/dell. The quality of the panel is higher; they have better uniformity of color/contrasts and less backlight bleeding.

I have an Acer 24'', it's great for the price but I prefer Samsung in terms of quality.
