Antec 1200 Front Audio Ports to X-Fi

Thread Starter
Hey guys, just wondering if anybody knows if I can hook up the front audio ports of my Antec 1200 to my X-Fi Extreme Music? It works with my Supreme FX II but I wanted to know before I switched it out because I'll have to put the stock cooler back on my 88s to make room for it.

I wouldn't use the front panel connectors. They degrade the audio signal quite a bit, but if you insist on using it. The XtremeGamer is the same thing as the XtremeMusic but lower profile and has a front panel connection.

Yes you can. I used to run a PCI-Ex1 wifi card in my 3rd PCI-Ex16 in my Maximus Extreme motherboard. The X16 slots are backwards compatible.

Thanks.I thought so but wasn't sure since I've never tried it.I guess I'll just pick up an Extreme Gamer that way I'll have plenty of room and wont have to switch out my DuoOrbs.

Does anybody know if the DX has a front panel conection.I may go with that instead.

Yes it does:

The Tech Report:
A Xonar, halved

Quote:
We've spent most of our time so far discussing features that didn't make the cut for the Xonar DX, but the card actually includes one perk that its full-fat counterparts lack: headers for front-panel audio connectors. Front-panel connectivity probably should have been included with the original Xonars, so it's nice to see Asus bring it to the DX.
