Top mount radiator - intake or exhaust?

Thread Starter
I notice that the heatpipes and heatsinks on my p5k deluxe are pretty damn hot, at the moment my fans for the top mount radiator are blowing warm air into the case with the upper rear fan and side case fans working as exhaust. Notice that my q6600 is a heat demon so I'm not sure if I should be using the radiator fans to exhaust with the upper rear and side as intakes. would this increase cpu temps very much by switching it around?

why not make the other fans intake... and make your radiator blow hot air up and out... makes much more sense.

but maybe 3-4 degrees at most I would say

hot air rises... gotta remember that

you are blowing all the heat being disapated from the rad into the case. i suggest reversing the airflow.

It really depends on your system. I have my rad top mounted, and had the fans pulling air in. The air pulling in from the rad is cooler then the air in the case. So I run mine that way (I've tested both to be sure). While its true hot air rises, you have to keep in mind the air outside the case is cooler then the air inside the case. So I like having cooler air being pulled through the rad vs hot air pushed out.
