because you were LUCKY that the bags weren't holding any static charge at the time. they do conduct a bit of electricity, but unless you've got them charged with static electricity, it won't make your **** go boom.

but once that thing gets charged, it could fry ****

In reference to iggster, madden, and Test:

Going by iggster's sig: 3 280's, a i7 965, and a $330 motherboard, he obviously doesn't care about price when he builds his machines. Its great that you can afford it, but for me and many others, we have a hard time trying to justify spending $1,000 on a chip and $1,200 on GPU's. That's just a bit overkill. Its clear that you're an enthusiast.

I think what most people are concerned about is price/performance. I can spend $5,000 on a gaming machine...but was is that $5,000 going to get me, high benchmark scores? And once you have your $5,000 monster all built and put together...I'm pretty sure you're going to upgrade again mid 09 when DX11 becomes popular and your $1,200 GPU solution becomes obsolete.

Point is, AMD does not need to be the best in benchmarking for mainstream consumers to be interested. I just need a CPU thats not going to bottleneck my GPU. If it can get me higher FPS for a good price, hey great for me. For enthusiasts like you, if the hefty price for your rig is worth it, thats wonderful, more power to you. But for mainstream customers, I'll keep the extra $4,000 dollars I'll save and invest that money into something else.

Haha yeah I got Table21 to build that computer for me. He's very picky about the cabling. He always criticizes my failed attempts at cabling in cases since I rush it for the sake of having a computer as soon as possible!

Lol, no harm in that. I'm a neat freak too. Sometimes its about presentation rather than performance you know.

haha no argument there. Just with Table he likes to switch off parts all the time so I end up cabling my systems multiple times a week which leaves less of a desire to do it neatly . Can't complain tho, he has definitely put some nice rigs together for me over the last few years.

PS for example, that lovely rig in the picture is gone now when he picked up the Phenom II chip. It now looks like:

Granted he did the benchmarks using the 4870s but we wanted to try 4 4850s.
