IMO I'd say spend a little bit more money and get a CM 690. Awesome case.

I'm going to be out of town (offline) until January, but I'll give rep to any good suggestion when I return. The Centurion 590 is looking better and better to me, and if anyone has it or the Antec 300 I would love it if you would post some pics of your setup.

I second the suggestion for the CM 690. If you buy it from Newegg, you'll end up paying $98.98 after shipping. But if you buy it with Provantage, then you'll only have to pay $76.85 after shipping. I bought my CM 690 from Provantage, and I am very happy with their service.

I think that you'd be happiest with the CM 690.

or the 590 if u dont wanna play for the 690
post #17 of 42
I'd probably take the 590 out of the two. Antec 300 is nice, but they don't include fans that seem like they should just be included i.e. front intakes. Also something like a xigmatek 1283 doesn't fit, my friend tried and failed. I'm not sure about the 590 though, research on the width might help you out with that.

In my opinion though, if you want quality don't cheapen out. It's hard to find a good solid feeling case for under $100 because they have to use cheaper materials to keep cost down. I would say put out a little bit yourself and look into a lian li. There's a few for under $100 if you want a case that is more for function than form (not that they make ugly cases). btw lian li also uses very nice solid aluminum, not that cheap 30 dollar case kind.

But like I said before, if he buys the CM 690 at Provantage, then he will only pay $76.85 after shipping. However, if he goes with TigerDirect, then he'd be paying nearly $110.00 after shipping!! And as I said, I bought my CM 690 from Provantage.com, and I'm very happy with their service.

what about the 900? you stated it in your request, yet did not indicate it as an option.

The antec 900 has looks as well as amazing airflow and is easily modded to include the cable mod which when done is actually better than many cases with it already built in. I know you said you wanted a plain case, and i agree many cases with extra "plastic" look like crap, i.e. the alienware cases (although that is personal taste i know) but the original 900 just had that slick understated look to it that was destrpyed by the 1200 unfortunately.

or maybe look at the new 900-2 which is an ugly mofo imo but has the cable mod etc done already.

eek, just checked the price of it, and its 109 over there which is a lil over the budget you set lol, but worth every penny if u can spare an extra bit...

Or go find one second hand on here, im sure theres someone selling one.

ROFL just found this with "convenient acessory box" in it

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...omputer%20Case

otherwise id definitely be egging for the 300 purely because of its air throughput, ive found wiht the 900 that you dont really need fast or noisy fans, justm id range/decnt ish fans because the sheer volume is enough to keep most systems as cool as an airflow can if you get me, my temps didnt change much when i replaced them with faster fans because some kind of optimal airflow had already been established at low speeds.

900 - its worth it. 300 - if you really cant afford the cash.

Although i must say i do have a soft spot for coolermaster cases, they are rather nice too

After looking at the Antec 300, I realized that the CM 690 is far better in many, many ways. I'd list all the ways it's superior, but you can see for yourself by just comparing them at Newegg.

Antec 300 at Newegg: $74.94 after shipping.

CM 690 at Provantage: $76.85 after shipping.

I think the choice is quite clear. The CM 690 is your destiny.
