Yeah, that is what i thought mine would run at, both temp and overclock.

Never thought of RMA'ing it. There is nothing "wrong" with it though, it just runs hot, will they RMA it for that?

Exactly my thoughts on reseating it. Will they RMA it for this though?

Fan speed is already at 100%. I adjusted the auto settings so that the fan kicks up to 100% after 70 degrees (since it is FAR to loud to have at 100% all the time).

Well all of that has been done except for a new heatsink on the card which i don't want to do since it voids the warantee and i have not seen a good one for this card yet other then water.
should be able to. check [BFG]'s RMA rules. i think "overheating should be one of them.

It is one of them, or at least they gave me an RMA.

Called up, told them my card and said it was running at 85 degrees+ and they said they will send me another one. Took all of 3 mins from start to finish, excluding hold time.

So i am going to send this back and hope that the new one works better. Fingers crossed.

Good Luck! Glad you took the easy route! Opening a GFX card and not knowing what to do / put it back together can be a tricky mess!

RIP my old 8800GTX...

first of all whats your ambient room temp and how is airflow in your case? if your ambient temps are too high theres your problem you could try cleaning off the stock TIM on the GPU and apply some new AS5

I was just through their RMA process and it was fast and I'm happy with it. One of my cards was acting funny upon arrival and they didn't even hesitate to give me an RMA. Everything is fine now.
I should also add those temps you were getting are not normal.

Yeah, i am actually about to install a new heatsink i got for $6.99 after $40 mail in rebate from newegg on an old 7900 in hopes of overclocking it enough to work for my brother and his mild gaming. Plus for $6.99 it was a no brainer.

Room temp is something like 70 degrees, just normal room temp, my computer sit by a window though and it actually gets cooler back there. So room temp is not the problem.

Airflow in my case is fine, i have an antec 900 with all the fans replaced with 100cfm fans. thing sounds lik a jet engine with them all on high. but as said, turning them up only drops the temp a little (though the video card fan will kick down from 100% it still just won't drop the temp below 85 degrees.

The RMA took about a week total. 2 days to ship their warehouse up here in Quebec, and 2-3 days for the new card to ship up from the U.S. Might even be a quicker turn around time for you if you are located in the U.S. You are going to have to pay for shipping to them though. Which sucks.

Good to know, i had to RMA a motherboard and they say they have to "test" it for 10 days before they ship out the replacement.

Im doing an rma with BFG right now. My 8800GTX started acting dumb. They got the card and I called to see if they had the same problem I did with it and the rma guy said "We just get them and send another out and test at a later time."
So yes they will rma the card. BFG has always been that way. No questions. Just replace the card.
Yes it's AMD.
