Np by the way if you have Realtemp installed do the sensor test

Its a button called "Test Sensors"

The sensors seem to be fine, according to realtemp
so that's not the problem..

I couldn't wait, so i disassembled the whole thing, reinstalled my heatsink and tried it at fsb 425 resulting in an overclock up to 3.6 Ghz on my Q9550
temps are a bit lower now when idle: 39C average.
However, my problem is still there as the whole thing goes up to 100 degrees after a few minutes of prime 95
I noticed that the temperature stays around 65 degrees for quite a while, just to go through the roof after a few minutes..

any thoughts?

After reseating my cooler yesterday i took another test with prime95
still my temps went through the roof.
now i lowerd my core temp in my bios from 1.35v to 1.264.
This resulted in max temps of a bit over 80c after 15 minutes of prime95
It's not going to 100c anymore, but still is a bit high

what do you guys think?
to what minimum can i lower my voltage without losing stability?

It must be hot with that kind of temperatures and it's not safe at all to use it daily. What kind of cooling system you have?
Try prime95 when the case is opened.

I know it's not ok with that temps, that's why i started this thread.
I'm cooling with a SE-128 SE heatsink from thermalright with a nexus fan on it.

i learned that stuff is a good cooler..

what about the voltages?
