Gigabyte GA-P31-ES3G

Thread Starter
Hey, im fairly new to overclocking and the world of PC hardware, so I am not sure about this board.

I needed a really cheap P31/35 board which could overclock my E1200. I found the Gigabyte GA-P31-ES3G at aria.

My budget was £70, so I don't have much to spend on RAM. I found this 2gb OCZ Bargain RAM for £13.

Can anyone tell me if these two items would be good enough to overclock my E1200? The motherboard is a good overclocking motherboard. But my mate says that it might not overclock unless you get good RAM.

Thanks,

Tj

What's with all the G31/P31 boards these days? I swear they're multiplying like rabbits!

I hope you're aware that this board has no onboard video, so you'll need a video card.

The chipset is also very strange with its FSB straps, so your overclocking is going to be limited regardless.

If I were you I would save up a few more pounds and get a better board.

Yes, but there arent any other good Ocing boards for less than £50. Would the cheap RAM be OCable?

You should be able to OC the RAM to some extent. Though, really, save up your money.

I recently found this at aria.

Its cheap 2gb RAM. Would it be good to OC? All I want to do is OC my CPU to at least 2.3Ghz.

Either one should be fine, if you insist on using that motherboard.

Ive got a good PCI-E ATI GFX card already, so don't need on-board video. The ES3G Board is the best I can find for my price-range.
