Why you doubting the P31/G31 Chipset it is good for a budget board and if the review is true it will overclock higher than its P35 brother

I hope you're aware that this board has no onboard video, so you'll need a video card.

The chipset is also very strange with its FSB straps, so your overclocking is going to be limited regardless.

If I were you I would save up a few more pounds and get a better board.
I agree with error10 on the P31. I used the EP31-DS3L and that board absolutely refused to overclock. Trust me I tried and I tried.
True my board may have been a dud, but, I have heard many others says the same thing.

One big problem is the chipset has double sided memory limitations.

This is straight from Gigabyte.

In the end I wound up buying a P35 board.
You can do what you want to, but trust me, that board will either not overclock or the overclock will be limited.

Mean while you can get some cheap preformers like this open box EP35 for $59.82

I've never, ever heard from anyone -- at all -- who managed to overclock one, except of course for random potentially untrustworthy reviews on the Internet such as the one posted above. I got rid of the one I had pretty fast.

A P35 board will certainly do better than a P31.

my photobuckets being stupid i will email you the picture if you want proof so you can eat your words haha.

i got the bus to 356mhz

Yep apparently somebody figured out how to do it. Apparently the secret is to increase the PCIe clock and you'll get a bit higher on the FSB. I would never have thought of this.
