667MHZ and 800MHZ memory

Thread Starter
I got AMD 64 x2 5200+ and gigabyte m56s-s3 mobo , i bought SAMSUNG 1GB DDR2 667MHZ CL5 by mistake instead of 800MHZ year ago, so now i want to buy more memory , probably Super Talent DDR2 2Gb 800Mhz PC6400 CL5 , but is all 3GB will work on 667 Mhz ? or i will just take 1GB out and have 2GB on 800mhz ? or better to buy 1GB 667Mhz memory and i will have 2g 667Mhz in dual channel memory ?

If the memory density is the same...

Then if you buy supertalent 1gb 800 mhz...for use wid samsung 666mhz..
then....

the 800mhz ram will underclock to 666mhz and will still have dual channel....

better dump your old samsung or put it for resale.....nd buy all 3gb of 800mhz
