You can buy one from Dell.com for $400, then there is 15% off coupon, P8KJNT4LV44T9S. That'll bring down the price to $339

If you apply for a Playstation card through sonystyle.com, you get $150 off a playstation purchase up until March, you just need to buy it from a sony authrorized reseller. (to buy it at somewhere besides sonystyle.com, you need to wait to receive the card first).

I got my playstation card yesterday actually, so Im going to combine the offers.... Dell at 15% off, then -150 with the playstation card. $189 total for a new 80gb PS3

wow that was definitely less then what i was expecting. How long did it take u to get ur card?

What about the fine print on the visa card where it says u have to buy at msrp? Dell.com is selling it at msrp and then a coupon @ 15% off so it would still work? o.0 My brain is leaking a bit.

As far as I know, it'll work... what I posted was on slickdeals a while ago, when there was a 20% off coupon for Dell, and people were getting them for $179. The MSRP is manufacturers suggested retail price, so I think since Dell starts it off as $400, it's fine.

OH, you could call sony and ask too. This isnt scamming them out of anything, and it isnt cheating them at all, its a legit deal. Call and ask if what I stated will work. If they wont give you the $150 off, you could just buy it somewhere and not use a 15% off coupon or whatever. It still drops the PS3 price to $249, which is still a good deal.

Oh, and it took me about 2-3 weeks to get the card, I cant remember exactly when I applied for it. But the fine print says you need to apply before December 31st, and you have until march to order the PS3.

New update, so I thought Id make a new post instead of editing.,

I called sony, and the first guy had NO idea what he was talking about, and told me DELL wasnt a sony authorized retailer, so I got off the phone and called them back to get a different rep.
Dell is clearly a Sony Authorized Retailer, as shown by this list

So I talked to a new rep, who thought it could only be through sony.com or sonystyle.com if it was purchased online, but then she checked, and told me that it could be purchased online at ANY sony autorized retailer, and the purchase had to be over $299 after any rebate. So I asked this: "If Dell offers a 15% off coupon, and I pay with the Sony Playstation card, will I get the 150 off?" To which she replied yes, that would work.
