ocing q9550 + temps. Please HELP?

I have a evga 750i ftw + Q9550. I've overclocked it to 3.4 GHz. CPU cooler is the zerotherm nirvana nv120, did a OCCT test and is stable with temps min.43 and max 73. My question is, are these temps safe? Also are the voltage settings correct for this overclock?

*CPU-Z VCore 1.344
**Mobo has big vdrop**
Bios Voltage settings,
CPU Core: 1.375
CPU FSB: 1.30
nforce SPP: 1.45
NF200: 1.25
GTLVREF lane 0-3: +00mv

FSB & Memory Config,
CPU Mutli: 8.5x
FSB Memory mode: Linked
FSB Memory Ratio:3:2
FSB: 1600

According to the Intel sSpec finder, the max temps for a Q9550 (both steppings) is 71.4C, so you're getting in the danger zone there. You're also getting pretty close to the recommended max vcore for 45nm chips, which is 1.3625V, so I would try and get that down a bit, it'll also help your temps.

Thx I will try lowering the voltage to get some lower temps hopefully it will stay stable.

k lowered voltage but was unstable. So went back to 1.34 vcore. Then I looked at the room temperature, was 76F. Lowered to 70F and now the cpu doesn't go above 62 on 100% load.

The temps are fine...those temps from intel are not for the cores, they are the max rated tCase temps, the cores can go over that no problem.

However, you really shouldn't need over like 1.25-1.27V for 3.4ghz...I think your instability is from something else. Memory settings perhaps.
