Go for Avast if you want free AV software (I use it on all of my computers, far better than Norton as it actually finds viruses and removes them) or NOD32 if you are willing to pay.

Actually try the new Norton 2009 before you bash it, thanks.

Norton AV or IS 2009, would be a good choice if you want to pay. I have the 2009 AV (woo! freebie ) and it's amazing.

avast! Home is terrible... (I think that's the free one.)

I used to recommend it to everyone until I started reading some of this year's reviews.

Maybe the products you pay them for are better?

Norton IS 2009 is the best rated AV of the year. Above Kaspersky's 2009 offering - which sucks btw, I beta'd it.

Plus you can get it for $20 off ebay...

^ x2

Norton 2009 is one of the best at this point in time. Been using it for a while and it works perfectly, practically zero system resource usage and keeps the nasties at bay well according to the reviews.

Try it for sure.
