I work with apple's allot with graphics, its drives me up a wall that they still dont have a mouse that can compete with an intellimouse from 6 years ago. I'm sitting there trying to do professional work, and the damned thing couldn't track a 10 40 foot pixels if you moved your wrist too fast, and thats last years tech..Polling is horrible, tracking is horrible, and they just suck.. and this is all supported by graphic designers.. tisk.. HOpefully this mouse will have an up to date laser and or optical.

i bow to my Deathadder.....
did you ever think to buy a PC mouse and use it with the mac

Back to the topic:

I think it's cool to see Apple take their touch technologies to a whole new level. First, it was the click wheel on the iPod, then the Macbook's with the scrolling and two finger "right-clicking", followed closely by the iPhone and new Macbook scroll pad functions, and now they're passing it to the mouse so that it can be used with the desktop computers (and what other people are calling "desktops"). Sure, it may not revolutionize the gaming mouse or be the most comfortable mouse on the market, but it is certainly different, new, and exciting.

What I hope for is that when Apple makes this (if they do), other companies like Logitech, Microsoft, Saitek and other mice manufacturers look at what Apple has created and make their own. Much like when the iPhone came out with its fancy touch pad abilities that were supposed to be two or three years ahead of any phone out there, it kicked LG and Blackberry and other phone companies in the ass to get their phones to similar capacity of the iPhone, which, in return, has created some really amazing phones that probably wouldn't have been created this early hadn't it been for the iPhone. So, in some respects, I hope this mouse sparks some new technology in mice.

Who knows? Apple could release this mouse and a few years later, Google will make one that'll be open source
