Which GPU. Price/performance

Thread Starter
I'm going to buy a new GPU assuming my brother wants to buy my current one (3870x2). A month or two ago I would have no doubt gone out and bought an ATI GPU, but since nvidia has lowered their prices I might go with them.

Since I'm not certain how much I'm going to sell this one for, I don't have a set price point. So I'll do it like this.

If I sell my card for $100, what's the best GPU for $200-$250.

If I sell my card for $150+, what's the best GPU for $250-$300.

Oh, I only have 1 PCIE slot so no crossfire or SLI.

For 200-250 range probably this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130373

But I haven't really researched so I'm not 100% sure if GTX 260 is the best price/performance.

I think it performs a little better then the 4870 and it's about the same price too.

what kind of a power supply do you have?
for 250.00 some good cards fall in that price range, if you have enough power for them.

dude that's not even the 216SP/55nm version.

Your best bet is to go with a Hd 4870 1GB.

I picked up an ASUS 4870 1GB for $192 off NewEgg; that's clearly the best deal in the world.

I still kind of think I went on the cheap side with the PSU, but it's good enough .

Would it be able to handle a 4870x2 or something similar?
