The previous temps are with the side, front and back case fan off (I get annoyed at the noise) These new temps are with the side and back fan on - front off.

These are the stats of the processor on load using prime95 (side and back fan on - front off)

Sorry for the big images

Anything under the mid 50c range at full load is fine, but keeping under 50c would likely be more prudent once the warm weater comes back around.

True, I'm sure if an investment in to a better case and heat sink it would take it down a little more.

Apart from slightly scary temps on load .. it runs smoothly.

DaveC1337, what kind of case do you currently have? As Duke has already mentioned, those full load temps are completely fine. I'm actually quite impressed

I'm assuming all of this is on the stock cooler?

Good luck

The case I have is the twin engine BB from A+

Its not on stock cooling, its a passive cooling fan something similar to the OCZ Vendetta but a little bigger .. its unbranded, got it cheap (like £10).

I can't get anymore out of the processor. I've max'd out the FSB, I could put the voltage up but risk overheating (don't trust the CPU fan enough).

I've herd they go right on up to 1.5 odd volts, wouldn't like to take it there myself with the cooling I have just now.

I've got a bit of money from Xmas, I think I will read into a better airflow case and maybe water cooling.

I had a look into water cooling a while back .. more bother than its worth all this using the correct fluid and pipes, do you Know of any complete kits? easy install and stuff ?

DaveC1337, did you find the max HTT (reference clock) of your chipset? I'm pretty sure your board can push more then 246HTT. You may want to also downclock the HT (hypertransport) speed. That may also be prohibiting your overclocking.

I actually don't have any experience with water cooling but the experts over in the water cooling section may be able to answer your question: http://www.overclock.net/water-cooling/.

Good luck
