[4GHz]E2180 max overclocking - Page 4

You'll most likely run out of FSB on the 780i..considering they typically wont go beyond 500mhz FSB. As long as you can keep the load temps down..you should easily get 4.5+ghz. Those single core CPU's do not need much more than 1.5v to really go fast..they need to be cold more than anything.

Hmm... my FSB is 445, though I certainly can't get much out of going x10. I'm not really talking to you, jake, I just didn't think getting past 400 was such a marvelous feat at x8 as the other guy was saying. Would love to crack 3.6 24/7 stable but I'm not sure it's worth it when I've already been given a gift of a batch number and riding out 3.56 I'm not exactly bottlenecked.

Check the database on the forum here, under the Intel section.. you wont see many submissions for the E2xxx's much past 380mhz FSB..let alone 400+. You guys should feel good to have such wonderful CPU's.

- I might have been happier with my E2160/2180 and 2200..had any of them run stable beyond 400mhz. *le' cry 'le whine*

Heh. Well, look for my OCing results after christmas once I get my EP45 UD3P guys!

I'm aiming for 3.6-3.7.

This E2200 that I have now supposedly did 3.8GHz on water when the previous owner had it!

Just make sure with your room temps you don't turn it into a slushie cooled system.

You must be in Southern MN. Your room temps are too warm!
