Anything bad about 64-bit?

Thread Starter
I am 2 clicks away from ordering some parts for a new rig. I'm in a crossroads between 32 or 64-bit Vista.

Is there anything that won't work with 64-bit? I know that I can only have 3GB memory with 32-bit and i want to go 64 because I have 6GB ready to install, but if things wont work with 64-bit then I'll sacrifice it.

I'm not sure about this whole thing. I just want to make sure all of my programs/games will still work with a 64-bit OS.

Maybe I'm bugging out for no reason?? (probably)

I have not seen, one problem with my Vista 64bit and yet i haven't came a crossed a program that isn't compatible with it. I would just shoot for the 64bit plus if you have 4gb or are going to get more ram you will be able to use it.

Honestly, from my own personal experience....

I have had more issues with Vista 32bit than I have had with 64bit. Make the jump, it'll make you happy . If you're going to be buying Vista anyway, might as well do it right the first time.

personally ive been using x64 vista since it came out...yea when it first came out there was driver issues and all but all those have been cleared up for along time now. if u have more then 3gb of ram and are not using a x64 os then ur just wasting resources. either way x64bit vista ultimate ftw w/o a doubt.

I made the jump to 64 bit and there are no more bugs on it than there are on 32bit. The only thing is that some older programs have compatibility issues with the new OS... but for normal people that shouldnt be a problem.

I have been using vista x64 for a month. All programs are compatible with vista x64. I didn't find any exception.

The bugs for 64bit were only present in the crappy 64bit edition of XP.. 64/32bit support is identical in Vista, so you won't be searching high and low for drivers, and any 32bit programs run in a 32bit emulation layer seemlessly.

Don't hesitate, you'll be fine
