E8600 EO 4.5ghz stable but 4.6ghz not, advice

Thread Starter
Been overclocking for days, took some advice from here, I got it to 4.5ghz by 10 times 450. OCCT stable. Temps fine 30s idle, 60s full stress. I want to try to push it farther but need advice. Current Cpu voltage 1.42 actual. NB and FSB termination is 1.4, Is it safe to go to 1.45 cpu voltage? Also my issue is now I have 12:10 fsb/ram ratio, is there any way to get it to 1:1 with my bios?
I read this board doesnt like odd ratios which I think is holding me back. This is only a 35 percent overclock on both FSB and CPU clock, I have to think it can go higher with this 10 multi as I could get Q6600 and E8400-500 to 50 percent or more overclock? Still hoping for some good advice here, always get 1 or 2 statements then it gets lost in the shuffle lol.

The new 45 nm are usually safe in 1.36v and I really believe it'll be bad to go 1.45v. Also I think to have your ram 1:1 ratio it'll have to be running 900mhz so its 450mhz.

I wouldn't go any higher than 1.4V for everyday usage, without seeing the chip start to degrade.

I agree. I wouldn't recommend above 1.4v for 24/7 use.

Stay below 1.4 for 24/7. You have an awesome OC, 4.0 Ghz is more then you'll ever need

In accordance with the other guys, I think you should just stick at 4.5Ghz. You've already got a golden chip, so no sense in pushing it well over the limits and losing that chip. Hover just below or at 1.4v if you can help it.

4.5GHz on an E8600 golden? not really. There's nothing wrong with 1.45V but in my experience these chips seem to get diminishing returns above about 1.42-1.43V, most of my clocks peak around 1.4V
