I love that all these people are still suggesting things when the purchase has already been made.

Its because the topic is pretty general. The thread is also a pretty good source for people wondering plasma or LCD. I don't see why people cant continue giving basic input just because one guy has already made his mind up.

The plasma industry doesn't have as many players involved in comparison to LCD. As a result I think it's less likely to find a real clunker in the bunch. That isn't intended for you to throw caution into the wind and buy a plasma without looking at it. It's just an observation. They Also get very hot and this affects the life expetancy of your Tv. I'd say go for LCD.

For starters, the one guy who made up his mind is the original poster, and secondly, these people are suggesting what the original poster should select and not just offering random tips. Besides, a lot of these tips are just "go with this" without any substance.

LCD sales are peaking past plasma and for good reason.

Go to you local store that carries the upper echelon of TVs.

Im not talking like Walmart that sells the bottom of the barrel models or just about every other store.

I bought my 6 series Samsung LCD at a local electronics store and they had all the top models so you could compare every TV side by side. I was hard pressed to tell the difference in picture quality between the Plasmas and LCDs. I mean a year ago I know the Plasmas looked alot better but it doesnt seem the case anymore especially with these new 120hz model LCD tvs.

With all the other advantages of LCD TVs like power consumption and best overall lifespan I was happy with my choice.

LCD and Plasmas differences are very minimal now. Plasmas don't really burn in anymore and LCDs have much better black levels than they used to. The biggest difference now is sizes.
