Broken battery lock *pics* - Ideas for a fix?

I doubt anyone knows how to fix this correctly, but maybe some one can come up with a way to at least keep the battery in place.

So here you can see the laptop, with the battery locked and in place.

Yet, even when locked, the left side of the battery slides out, cutting the power from the laptop.

Here, you can see the release latch on that side. When locked in place, that little white piece is showing, although it is flush with the walls around it. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to stick on further and lock into the groves of the battery.

Grooves in the battery:

When you slide the release button back, the little white piece moves out of the battery groove, releasing the battery.

One the right side of the bartery, the side that does lock properly, a white piece (different shape than the other one) sticks out and locks into the groove of the battery,

I'm not sure how this happened... but it seems to me like something must have broken off the little white piece, enough those the edges look smooth, not jagged as if something chipped off.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

If all you are looking for is a functional fix (not pretty) vs a real (not going to happen) fix. I would get a book of matches. I would tear off a part of the cover. I would fold 1X or 2X if needed. I would then place (wedge) this in. I broke the clip on my first notebooks RAM and this has been working for 8 almost 9 years. Like I said not pretty.

Yep, just wedge something in there.
