Maxing out GTA IV

Thread Starter
Hi OCN

I have got myself a copy of GTA IV last weekend and it's gggggreat

Only problem is I cannot max it out on my 19'' Monitor

Setting are

1440 x 900 : 75Hz

Texture: Med
Render: Very High

Dis: 20
Everything else is: Max

Resorce memory 403/503

On the benchmark I get 31.2 Avg Frame

What will be the best GPU for under £200 to max out this game
post #2 of 21
I don't know how much a 280 cost where you live, heres what I get with a single GTX280 since SLI and crossfire aren't supported,

Only reason i'm getting 31.2avg FPS is because my texture is on med not high.

When are the new updates released.

Don't tell me this is going to be another crysis where only £5000+ machines can run it.

I was looking at a 9800GX2 but it's old tech.

I cannot get any more out of my CPU because of the lack of mobo features.

Yeah, or even consider getting a second HD 4850 (if ur MOBO supports crossfire); I have dual 4870's and it runs smoothly for me overall. 4850's run pretty similarly, and plus it'd be cheaper :-)
