Is my 8800 Ultra worth being changed for a new GTX 295?

Thread Starter
I read CustomPC the other day, it says "You have an 8800 GTX or 8800 Ultra, you may aswell hang on to these cards in 08/09" But should I upgrade it to a 295 when it comes out?

i personally would do one thing, wait ... wait for the real benchmark data to come through.
and then make a informed decsion, you will probarly end up doing it for two reason, 1 to save the enviroment (ultras draw lots of juice) and 2 everyone loves new hardware

Hang onto it for now, see what the next round of ATI/Nvidia brings us

I personally would wait. Initial price offering is probably gonna be pretty high. I would wait till benchtests are done on it, and the initial price drop you drop the money.

Is there even much of a resale market for Ultras any more? Seems like the best idea to just keep it, since the new architecture really isn't a radical change. Or, since you have a P45 board, you could always sell the Ultra and go for CF 4870 X2s if you want ridiculous framerates.

Just a thought...

Keep it. It's reliable, no? It still performs excellently, no? No reason to get rid of it unless you like wasting money.

Depending on how you look at it, it's kind of a funny statement in light of our hobby.
