Upgradeing from my 478 need some advise

Thread Starter
I built my current computer about 3 years ago using new parts but using older technoylogy. I have come to the point where my system no longer meets my needs.

I can't afford to build a brand new system so I plan on changing out my motherboard, CPU, and memory.

Decided to go with the Pentium E2200 because I heard that this CPU is great for overclocking. I am also going with the DDR3 PC10600 just because it's a little cheaper and there are quite a few motherboards that support it.

I am, however, new to overclocking. I currently have and ASUS P4S800 and realize that while it has been a great board, it does not allow that much room for overclocking. I need some direction and advise on selecting a motherboard that supports the E2200 as well as PC10600 and gives me plenty of flexability for overclocking the processor, memory, and graphics card.

The other specs I am interested in is 4 DDR3 slots, 4 SATA ports, PCI 2.0, at least 4 rear USB 2.0 ports and, 2 front USB 2.0 ports.

Currently my optical drives are ATA and hy HDD's are ATA-100 and ATA-133 so I will have to buy some SATA or PCI to ATA converters.

Any help would be welcome.

This motherboard would take care of your needs. You can even put either DDR2 or DDR3 memory in it. I don't think you really need DDR3 with that processor you want. You might want to spend just a little more money and get an E7300 or even an E8400 if you can afford it.

This is the board I would recommend. It's a DDR3 board and a DFI at that, should be a great overclocker.
