Don't forget to complain to the program vendor(s) about their crappy programs.

Vista x64 does not have 16bit support so that may be the cause of some of your issues.

Yeah dude, sorry but I haven't had any problems either. The only programs I have that won't run are either really old 16 bit apps that Vista doesn't support, and a couple of old games that need some files from an old DirectX. Otherwise, nothing major, just old stuff that I really don't need.

Hope you can get it fixed though. Good luck.

Dude, are you serious? Does that work on SP1? I've been trying to find a way to disable driver signing on Vista x64 SP1 for awhile, but finally gave up.

wow thanks for all the replies!

Sadly uac is disabled already and I just now tried compatibility mode to no avail. It is a tool for the 360. The last thing that tipped the icing on the cake was adding drivers to give video compositing support for vista movie maker. That one actually DID install in compatibility mode. I guess I just mess with homebrew software so much that I'm bound to run into problems like this.

I'm currently installing xp32 in vmware to see if I can use that. I'm pretty sure I have to stick with vista 64 because of the ram I need to run virtual machines at a decent speed.
