Pentium 3 - Temprature !?!??!

Hi,

I got a Pentium 3 processor and it usually runs around 500-550 MHz

And its temprature is usually sitting around:

45'c - 50'c

Depending on what I use it for...

At what temprature will I start to fry this cookie??? (Higher more dangerous side please)

Can I keep overclocking this as long as I keep it cool enough and as long as the computer supports what i set it at...

Thankz,

zBuster

Depends on which Pentium III it is. But they can generally run a lot warmer than modern CPUs. I wouldn't worry until you start hitting 80-85C.

How did you get that to run that hot? What is the MHz supposed to be when you do not OC it?

I am messing with the mutipliers in the little blue switch board now and i am having trouble getting the correct combination for it to run on 1 GHz....

there r 10 switches and P.19 shows the different combinations for a regular processor...

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...f/p3bf-104.pdf

could you help me out on what your computer has selected - In the Bios this can be done too but the problem is it keeps increasing the PCI bus along with the CPU mutiplier....

Is there a way to lock the PCI numbers & only increase the processor???
