Samsung SM2443BW £228
I chose to go with 2 24in monitors when I purchased them. I really care about resolution, not size. I do video editing, with a little graphic art, so quality was a priority. Any monitor by Samsung will be good. Any Dell Ultrasharp monitor is acceptable as well. Samsung makes most of the panels for Dell, but they are usually more expensive then the comparable Samsung monitor.

If your just going to be gaming, then I would suggest one of the Samsung basic models, like the 245BW or similar. They are TN panels. If your looking for better color/contrast uniformity and better viewing angles, I would look into a monitor with a S-PVA or IPS panel, but they will be probably 50% more.

I would stay away from the 28in monitors, the quality on them isn't that great, but they would be good if you just wanted a really large monitor (biggest monitor before you have to go to 30in with res. increase).

I believe this monitor would be good for you.
