Heyah, Lambent.

I have kept 3 cases, Indigo, Halcyon and Silentium. The rest of the cases have either been sold or cut up and recycled into other projects.

Hmmm... Holiday give-away you say?

Thanks for the thoughts, Repo.

Indeed, I did consider what you stated but an issue arises with the fan placement on the front of the case. Never the less you make a good point as when the case lids are opened there will be a couple of sharp corners facing upwards.... if there is anything sharp in the room, I will stab myself on it... guaranteed! lol.

My tentative solution is to give those corners a 1" radius. This however introduces another issue: The counterpart that meets with this rounded edge will also nee to be the same profile so that there is a "seal".

The issue may be moot as there are 2 different designs for this particular aspect of the build rattling and battling around in the melon... given time I am hopeful that they will reach an amiable conclusion.

...but there is yet another option for me....

question. If i get a 64bit product key for vista ultimate. Than go into my control panel and click on the change product key. will It change without affecting whats on my PC or is it gona completely reinstall vista?
Sorry for the delay on this, but ironically enough I just needed to do this.

"Bob" from Microsoft in Bangladesh was kind enough to simply issue a new key and that was that.

...actually it wasn't "Bob", maybe it was "Jim"... sorry I can't recall as it was like 8 days ago.

Colors/colours:

Carbon Fiber = Black and red (2nd color/colour may change) fused into single weave panels covered by high-gloss resin (non poisonous stuff this time).

Acrylic = Black and Bronze

lol... I kid.

Well, my intention was to create a no-nonsense thread wherein I build a neat little case... my failure thus far is monumental in proportion...

For Exhibit A, I submit the tags below which have already caused me to have abdominal cramps from the laughter that they induced...

That would be kinda cool... like the Y2K Bug mod that was done from carbon fiber

In truth, such mods are not my "style". Please understand that I mean no disrespect. There are amazing "themed" mods that are nothing short of jaw-dropping (Doom 3, Hell Raiser, et al.). Compounding my hesitation is the fact that the required imagination and skill that it takes to make these mods is out of my realm of abilities.

Nice idea!

Sadly, the pressure of even one of the struts is too much for this particular application.

I had purchased those to lift 8 fans, 2 fluid-filled 480 radiators and a few pounds of acrylic (windows and frame). Additionally the mounting point was quite close to the hinged end; this meant that I needed more pressure.... too much for this little case

No. Sorry, perhaps the name is too misleading The only resemblance will be the manner in which the top opens for access to the inside of the case.

I have started sorting through acrylic to see what I have already. So far it looks like I have all the pieces for the smaller parts, but I may need to purchase a 24" x 24" black panel for 2 of the larger pieces...

That Y2K bug does look cool; but I was not implying you should do a fully themed case like that. I just figured that a domed top (rather than a flat top) in addition to the split in the middle would go well with the name. It certainly wouldn't be difficult and would be a simplistic means of adding one more unique touch and a bit more flare to it.

Edit: and if you have any questions regarding composites (which resins aren't wicked stuff, layup techniques, molds, etc) feel free to ask
