Problem with 4 sticks on EP45-UD3P - Page 2

Ok, so I figured I would give it another shot. I went into the bios, loaded optimized defaults, installed all 8 gigs, and..... now it works. *** mate? I'm going to reboot a few more times to see if it's just a fluke or what. If so, I'm gonna have to inch back up to my OC and see if I can get it to work there. I'll report back in a bit.

Ok then. I guess it was a bios issue. I had f7a, switched to F6. Everything works dandy now. All 8 gigs, used settings i previously tried with my OC plus a bit more on the NB, and presto, everything works. Thanks all for the help.

F7a is a beta. You should give Gigabyte some feedback on that issue.

Yea, I totally forgot that I had flashed F7a. I was on F5 for a while and then on a whim (and scotch) changed it and totally forgot. One more reason why drinking and computers don't mix!

Spoke too soon. It stopped working. I ran IBT and it crashed, and I haven't been able to get it back since. I'm running it right now with 3 sticks out of curiosity, and it runs.

I'm at a loss. Why would it work and then just stop??

Changing Static Read to 9-10 in Channel A/B Timing Settings helped with my 4x1gb sticks.
