hi people!

im buying a new card this week to work with my Edifier C2 2.1 speakers.

I would like to know if i should buy a Xonar DX or a D2X. will i notice difference between them??

i want to buy an audio card that will stay with me for many years.

i will use it for music, games and movies (most of them in 1080p)

Thx!

D2X is a direct competitor to the X-Fi Prelude... I.e. Top of the line.

The DX is a good mid-range card. You probably won't notice a difference unless you do everything in full 5.1 dolby 24bit / 96Khz

Middle of the review, but you can see there's actually not as much real listening difference (though there is one) as there is price difference between the two.

The results may differ as you get more advanced hardware and etc., but for everyday purposes I'm not sure you'll get 100 bucks extra of enjoyment out of a d2x vs. just a dx.

So if you want a straight black and white answer I say go for dx hands down. It may not be that cut and dry but I've a feeling that's what you're looking for.

I think the only difference is one is pci-e , and the other is just regular pci. But I will say I just got my d2x today, and it is pretty bad ass. Music sounds so clear and great...

He's not talking d1 or dx or d2 or d2x he's talking dx or d2x.

Glad you like your card. Apparently my d1 is waiting for me at home, it was just delivered.
