Computer does not post, monitor gets no signal

Thread Starter
I just finished building my new computer today. When I turned it on everything seemed to be working, but when I plugged in my monitor, keyboard, etc. I got the No Signal message on my monitor.

Specs:
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4ghz
Asus P5K Deluxe/Wifi-AP
MSI NX8800GT 512mb
HEC 750W psu
Assorted Western Digital Drives
Lite-On 16X DVD Combo Drive
2 GB Corsair DDR2

I think I've ruled out the video card by testing a 2nd card with the same result, and the monitor was just working on my old computer earlier today.

When I turn on the computer now, the fans and lights go, but I don't hear any beep.

Any thoughts?

You might try resetting the bios and booting with one stick of RAM and one hard drive. Unplug the power conectores and replug them in too.

Unfortunately that didn't work. Same result. I am going to try reinstalling the cpu.

Are you getting any kind of boot? Fans spinning, ect.....?

Yes, the fans would spin everytime, and I could hear the drive spinning.

I checked the cpu, and there was a bent pin. I didn't see it beforehand. I reseated the cpu, and I'm going to try again.

EDIT: Nope

Do you have the little speaker conected? The one that put's out the error codes? Are you getting an error code? If not, I would say you need to RMA the motherboard.

Yeah the little beeper is built in...

I'd rather leave RMA as a last resort. Are there any other options?

Test your ram in another system. I'm not sure what else. I don't know your PSU, but, 750w is more than enough for your components.

A friend suggested newer RAM, as this motherboard does not support 533 MHz RAM. Sorry I didn't mention that in my first post, didn't think it would be important. lol

Anyway, it worked. Thanks for your help!
