Swan M12 2.1 Speakers

Thread Starter
With my X-Fi Platinum on the way, I think it is time to buy some new speakers. Everyone here recommends the Logitech Z-2300 but I head the sound is to muddy. ProMedia's are mentioned but they are too hard to find, and I have heard of too many issues with them.

Has anyone here had any experience with the Swan M12 speakers? I know the M10's were supposed to be light on the bass, but these are supposed to be the M10's bassy gaming bretheren.

They are $99 at theAudioInsider.com

The Z2300's are not bad at all, I absolutely love mine. Sound is as clear as you're going to get for cheapish speakers.

The Z2300 are good speakers but do come with a downfall: Logitech Bass. It sound cheap and generic.

The ProMedia's are reccomended a lot and have been reviewed to be amazing computer speakers. The only issue I have heard of is distortion at very high volumes.

I have never heard of the speakers you are talking about, so I can't help you in that department.

If you add an amp to the circuit, you can pick any speakers. There are a lot of good refurbished amps on AudioKarma. $65

from what I heard I wouldn't call the m10 bass light, I'd say they are more true to the actual amount of bass a speaker should have than most computer speakers.

I haven't heard anything about the m12, but it does have a larger woofer so it should be able to move more air. The satellites in the M10 are 2-way design while the m12 has 3" full range drivers. If the m12 does it right it has a lot of potential.

I can't choose which speakers to get. Those Swans look good, but I need something that will work not only as PC speakers, but as TV speakers from 6-10ft away...
